Established in May 2012, the Committee for Students with Disabilities aims to connect universities, academics, ministries, disability associations, other relevant bodies, and students with disabilities themselves
The inclusion of representatives from these institutions is intended to foster social partnerships, create a supportive environment for young people with disabilities, and promote the importance of inclusion in higher education. This collaboration between the non-profit and government sectors mirrors European Union best practices, which SUMSI seeks to replicate in Croatia.
The Committee reviews the work of member organisations and institutions. It aims to improve communication, streamline processes, increase access to support services for students with disabilities, and to provide timely assistance when needed.
Students with disabilities and academics are welcome to express their interest in joining and contributing to the Committee’s work.
